Thumbs up Veterans Day.

I tried to search for this but could not find a veterans day thread.

I first want to say thank you to all the vets on this board. Thank you for your service.

I was an 8 year Army Reserve veteran. 3 years in the 854th Eng BN from Kingston, NY.
5 years in the 724mp bn Fort Lauderdale, FL.

I did 1 tour in Iraq in 2003 at Camp Bucca.

Camp Bucca was named after Ronald Bucca the 1SG of the 800th MP BDE out of NYC. He was also a Fire Marshall who was killed in the South Tower of the WTC in 9/11.

Heroes are not athletes or movie stars heroes are people who put their life on the line everyday to protect our freedom. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

Mischa

Agreed. Thank you to everyone currently serving or anyone who has ever served.

Indeed.

When everyone is safely enjoying their holidays with their loved ones this year, please think for a moment about those who are either overseas now, or have been in the past, and away from their families at the holidays so that we may enjoy ours in peace and security.

Thank you to all who are or have served.

lol, as far as I know they do, I think it's just banks that are closed.

edit: post offices are closed, and there is no regular mail delivery on Veteran's day.

However, the movement of mail within the system that is already in transit continues, and express mail deliveries still take place on Veteran's Day.

All who served should be honored today, but especially this guy:

He finished two tours in Iraq, only to come back to the country he was serving and be killed by some f***king idiot criminal.
