Default Twilight 4K - HDD Review

Catherine Hardwicke's adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight is, all honesty, a terribly bad teen romance attempting to sell a fantasy love affair in the most mawkishly absurd story about vampires. The bad acting and laughable dialogue ultimately make it a comedy, not a romance. The movie celebrates its 10th Anniversary on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with a generally satisfying Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos presentation offering a small step up over the Blu-ray. With only one new supplement, the overall package is nonetheless Recommended for hardened fans.

I was hoping they'd finally partner with Rifftrax for this release, but sadly no dice. Movie's still worth it just for their commentary track.

I meant Rifftrax's commentary - it's damn hilarious. I have the DVD just so I can listen to them riff away at it.

Ahh cool. I wonder why they wouldn't put it on here.
I hate when special features don't carry forward

I doubt RiffTrax was an audio track on the DVD release. Usually they are are sold through the RiffTrax website and you have to manually sync it to the movie through an alternate audio source or rip the movie and join mux them together.

Recommended for hardened fans?!

What's the point of giving reviews if your opinion is completely
dependent on the opinion of the reader??? It's the reviewer
who says, I recommend this or I don't recommend that. It's
his review; it's not the reader's review.

This is the reviewer's opinion:
"all honesty, a terribly bad teen romance attempting to sell a fantasy love affair in the most mawkishly absurd story about vampires. The bad acting and laughable dialogue ultimately make it a comedy, not a romance."

Wait, there's more:
"feels more like sickly twisted black comedy about an emotionally abusive relationship. With laughably horrendous dialogue and comically bad acting, the movie is more hilarious than romantically serious."

So just DON'T recommend it.

Saying "recommended for devoted, hardened of fans" is just
the next step above "recommended for the stupid."

Fans can just look at the technical scores of Video and Audio.
That's fair to inform the "devoted, hardened" fans of the disc's
technical achievements.

But if the Bottom Line equates to recommendations based on
just the technical Video and Audio scores for stupid, I mean,
devoted fans, what's the point?

Right - yeah I didn't state that clearly, the Rifftrax commentary isn't on the disc sadly. Their first Kickstarter they'd hope to secure the rights to do a live riff but Summit/Lionsgate wasn't having it. I use their app on my phone and it's pretty good, sometimes it can take a bit to get going because it cues off of dialogue, but you don't miss too many of the jokes - it's a LOT easier than ripping the movie and editing their commentary to the audio. Here's the writeup I did for their app when it came out, they've done some improvements since then - https://www.highdefdigest.com/news/s...trax-app/30066
