Day 1 purchase from me. May be the best horror film of the decade. God damn it was so good despite its flaws.

Saw it yesterday. Took my mom. We both thought it was just "meh". My sister ended up seeing it later that evening with a couple of her friends and they all thought the same. It was a pretty generic "slasher" that could've been so, so, so much better if the script had more fine tuning. I mean, it was a little better than Rob Zombie's remakes, but not even close to being as good as Steve Miner's H20.

Overall I liked it, probably one of the best sequels - maybe not better than the original #2? But I need to see it again to make the final call. A lot I liked, some things I really didn't. Worst part was the audience I was in, loud talkers on both sides of me who wouldn't shut up on top of people kept adjusting their seats so anytime the film got quiet to build suspence there was an annoying electric motor sound coupled with farting plastic seat rub.

Oh hell no. It was far superior to H20. The final showdown alone was way more intense compared to anything H20 did. Not to mention the camera work was absolutely stunning when Michael had his little rampage and the soundtrack? Good god was it amazing.

This put H20 to shame which you can tell JLC only did for a paycheck while here she was really passionate about what she was doing.

The Michael mask finally looked good for the first time since the original too. Not to mention getting rid of the stupid ass sibling plotline was the greatest idea ever. The only thing missing was Donald Pleasance.

Gotta agree with Dr. K on H20 - it was well-meaning but it never felt like a Halloween film to me. Even when I saw it in theaters it felt like what Miner did with Friday the 13 parts 2 and 3. It's a fun entry, I still watch it every now and again, but it's the fourth worst for me behind the Zombie remakes and Resurrection.

I always enjoyed H20 myself, but this movie soooo much better it actually makes it really easy to forget 2-8.

As it stands I see a choice of watching H1 and this, or H1-2 and H20 as a trilogy. 4 is good, and I’m ok with 6, but 5 is so awful it makes them easy to jettison from memory.

I guess it depends who you agree with, Carpenter that he shouldn’t have been his sister, or not. I think it works better as random rather than the sister narrative brought into part 2.

I feel it is much more scary being that Michael only went after Laurie because she stepped on his porch.
