Not sure about this one. This movie had a lot of issues just going to Blu Ray.

Studio Canal apparently oversaw some sort of restoration awhile back, so hopefully this disc is mined from that and not the DNR travisty that's been available the last few years.

Meaning the waxy transfer used for the 3D will not be the one we will be getting here? Was not StudioCanal the company responsible for the lackluster T2 release (which was the same turd they used for the 3D release)?

Hopefully not the same wax job that was recycled for the 3D disc. SC actually has done some solid restoration work, their recent Blu-rays of Death on the Nile and Evil Under the Sun are pretty good looking transfers. Their 3D presentation of T2 was pretty impressive on it's own, despite the teal/orange push I'm glad I imported the 3D disc, but it shouldn't have been the same one used for the 4K release. That was just a lazy cash in.

Really hope this is the case.. probably Iíve seen this movie more than any in life. The original pre wax BD isnít bad, even that with an HDR treatment would be sweet.

Right! The only problem with that original release was that it wasn't from a recent scan, it was an older DVD master. They didn't need to slather it with noise reduction. Granted I dig the 3D conversion, it's fun, but woof. When Arnold looks like he's wearing makeup gone wrong instead of having 2-day beard stubble there's a problem.

I'll wait to read the reviews before I dive in.
