Been hearing not so good reviews on this movie.

What a shame as the pic and audio quality appears to be excellent

Three Stars is not terrible and Matt says this is recommended.
I have seen though that Blue Sky got a little lazy. Look at their previous movies, some of the characters are very similar, if not, changed a little bit.

It's far from the worst movie, but it isn't amazing either - it'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh. It's just nothing liked the kids book aside from a loose connection between a Bull who likes to smell flowers.

I heard this is one case of pseudo-4K. It was digitally mastered in 2K? I'd still pick up the 4K version just for the HDR though, and CGI scales well regardless. It's currently going for $35CAN on Amazon.ca, so I'll wait until it drops a bit, maybe closer to $25. If it's a middling film, it should hopefully get a significant discount (Say, to $25 or so) before the year's end.

Yest it was upscaled from a 2K DI for the UHD disc, but do get some finer details out of the image that you just dont see in 1080p. On Blu-ray the animals can look a bit rubbery where the UHD gives the image a little bit more texture.

My threshold for animated movies has been very high lately. I thought Frozen, Coco, Moana, and Inside Out were very overrated.

I'll rent this
