I’ll wait for the trilogy, but this is exciting. The Atmos tracks alone!

If they give it a good video upgrade from the digibook version, I might pick this up. The first one is the only one worth owning.

Agreed

It's amazing how much the franchise fell after the first one which the second one being bad and the third the worst.

My HD DVD quit working, so I need a copy. Was thinking of buying on BR, but this saves me from that. Also glad it's a standalone as I don't need the other garbage sequels.

I'll be in on getting this trilogy again, I'm sorry but I'm one that loves all three of them....of course the first is the best but the other two and its story as a trilogy I really enjoyed, I might just have to go back and watch these again but a good 4K upgrade with Atmos would be awesome for this one, this was the first big movie I used to test our surround sounds with when it first came out on DVD back in college

Sadly first a bunch of the discs did, now the player won't output audio. Tried to watch Old School and was greeted with silence. Same with all of my discs.

Sadly it's about the only thing the Oppo won't play... lol

Yep a lot of my HD DVDs failed when I went to rip them, ended up giving the last 50 and a player to a buddy.. he got rid of em because every movie he tried failed.

The sequels are fun, sure they don’t live up to the original, nothing could have. I enjoy them almost on a kind of fan fiction level, but they are too good to write off as mere ‘garbage’.

Just a heads up, looks like the blu-ray that will accompany this 4K UHD release will be sourced off this new 4K transfer, and not just Warner using the old disc. So that's good news. This is a positive sign that Warner will do the same for 2001: A Space Odyssey later this year!
