Why? It was spectacular! Sure, it wasn't as amazing as Rogue One, but it is on par with The Force Awakens.

As good as, probably better than TFA! Cannot wait to see it in 4K. Just saw it today, lot to process but I really dug how they change up the style a bit.. about time.

No it wasn't. By far the worst Star Wars movie ever made and a completely awful movie in general. Only SW movie I left pissed and wanting my money back. Awful, completely awful. 15 minutes of plot (bad plot at that) filled with 2.25 hours of pointless side plots. It must be Disney's wish to destroy every part of the SW mythos by utterly screwing it up. TFA wasn't great, but at least it didn't ruin the Star Wars universe.

Rian is a hack.

It's a pretty terrible film, I agree.

I will agree that the movie has a lot of flaws, but it did something new, while giving us a lot of development for both Rey and Kylo. Every scene with those two together was utterly fantastic. Not to mention it had some great one liners and the casino was awesome.

There was nothing in this movie that destroyed any of the Star Wars mythos. It just added to them. Or are you one of those people that are upset Disney isn't following the restrictions set by fanfiction?

Saw Last Jedi today. Absolute trash. I can't believe some of the things they did in this movie.
The opening scene totally set the tone too. As soon as I saw it I knew everything bad I heard about the movie would be true.

Casino side trip was useless. As were most scenes in the movie.

I wanted to type more, but don't want to spoil.

I don't mind new characters and development. But why not continue to develop existing characters?

I also don't think they have to follow old storylines, but why not use some characters? To throw away all of the well thought out stuff is just dumb.
