Even just the HD streams of scenes on YouTube (the whole movie is out there in bits; that can't last, can it??) are breathtaking.

I don't find the shifting AR as distracting as it was in TDK. Of course that's probably because the amazeballs IMAX stuff is the majority. It still seems pretty dumb. If nothing else, the way the eyes adjust to the difference in light levels when the letterbox comes and goes ought to wake Nolan the F up when it comes to this nonsense. But I'll endure it for this release, my favorite of the year.

(The above refers to Dunkirk. Didn't know the whole collection was headed for this thread.)

Thread updated from a Dunkirk thread to a "Nolan 4K" thread, adding Interstellar to our list of 4K Nolan reviews.

Whats with that BS? Why are they pushing the new tech over to a gimped version of 4K? That makes no sense, I'm staying away from digital for all of this for as long as I can, I have my Vudu collection because they come with the movies they buy, but doing things like this I just hate, why cant these movie studios all get on the same page with this shit?

HDR is not a "gimped version of 4K" it'd be worse if the movie had no HDR and the digital copy was DV, but in this case it's just that the streaming is DV and disc is HDR, I'm more than OK with that. While I enjoy the discs I have in DV, the difference between HDR and DV isn't night and day like it would be for DV and NO HDR.

Pity, sounds like a pretty mild upgrade. Pass.
