Default Guardians of the Galaxy 2 4K

Take with a possible grain of salt but Best Buy Canada has a listing for a 4K/3D combo steelbook up for preorder. Could this be Disney's jump into the 4K market. I hope so cause I made my preorder with the above news

Yeah, saw that yesterday, but not sure I'd believe it quite yet. If it is true, I imagine it will be on Dolby Vision since Gunn is reportedly a big supporter of the format.

That would be an added bonus! We can only hope, but will have to wait for official announcement before getting excited. I can only imagine how beautiful and mesmerizing it will look given how colorful the photography is.

They could make this available in a 4K format but still not "technically" be Disney. Maybe the next Pixar movie could be a UHD/4K home release too, but still no Disney.

I too hope this is true -- there was a rumor going around that Gunn was pushing Disney towards 4K.

Did James hold Disney at gunnpoint?

Not sure why Disney/Marvel/Pixar etc. would even bother. 4K is already dead. Look at the dearth of new 4K titles. There's no market.

Same here. I'd much rather have the 3D disc. Here in Canada, some of the Disney 3D titles are getting harder to come by. I was lucky to find a 3D copy of Doctor Strange, but I haven't been able to find a 3D copy of Moana. I just hope GofG:Vol 2 will be findable in 3D here.
