I loved this movie! Few western films really commit to the bushido mindset like this.

It's a brilliantly constructed film that creates real consequences for the hero without the usual cheap movie clichés. Putting him in a bad situation where if he succeeds, he'll only get himself in deeper was well played.

I could make a few minor criticisms, but I won't. This film really impressed me. I liked the first one, but absolutely adored this one.

I was unable to find any steelbook for this on the BBY website (except for standard Blu-ray).

Two weeks early. Are you sure it's 2 and not the first movie?

Very disappointing sequel. Loved the first one and this one had a paper thin plot, with just a bunch of death thrown in.

Just received this one in the post. Saving for tomorrow night.

On another note, I'm stoked for this...

John Wick TV spin-off is called The Continental – and Keanu Reeves is expected to cameo

I'm not a big tv watcher. I'm not sure how excited I am about the idea of a tv show set in the Wickleverse. it could be a cool base from which to launch a bunch of one-off pulpy action noir stories (sorta like 'Sin City', which I heard is also getting a tv show). I'll wait and hear how it plays out.

I didn't think JW2 was as good as the first movie, but still lots of fun. One of the great pleasures of these films is watching John Wick cash in on the respect and good will he's earned from his past jobs. I think in one-man-against-many action movies, the tendency to strip the hero of all allies so as to ramp up the odds against him often robs the viewer of that pleasure. But these movies get it: a hero as likable as John Wick will probably have people who like him as much as we do show up around him sometimes.

The fact that the movie pays homage to the "consider it a professional courtesy" exchanges in the western El Dorado reinforces just the vibe I'm picking up here, too.

I tweeted at Best Buy's just to ask if they could share the feedback that their steelbook art is all around terrible. I doubt it'll influence anything but we'll see.

If enough of us do it in response every time they come up with another terrible design, they eventually cannot ignore it.
