Default Pioneer to Release Two 4K Decks....

Looks like a 4K Pioneer deck is inbound:
BDLX | Pioneer

The BD LX on the Pioneer website being a rather large clue. Looks like a similar release to the BDP-LX88 and the LX58 - two players.

All I get is a night scene and the word GYOUTEN and some other Japanese characters.

BX500 has a familiar look to it.
I wonder if Pioneer will be as versatile on user created media.

Hopefully around the Oppo prices. The second player has yet to be unveiled, so we do not know if this is the audiophile version or not.

Yes it is almost a facsimile for Pioneer's last BD players - the LX88 and LX58.
I own the BDP-LX88 and that is a superb player and a UHD version should be sublime.

As to specifications, nothing announced yet from Pioneer but should not be too long now.

Pioneer has been previewing its first UHD Blu-ray player at the Ototen AV festival in Japan. The UDP-LX500 will see the brand step into the void left by Oppo Digital. The AV giant has also been posting teaser images on its Japanese website since April.
The upcoming model appears to be an evolution of its last premium player, the BDP-LX88. If this is the case, then videophiles are in for a treat. The LX88 was a formidable disc spinner. It tipped the scales at 13.4kg and had impressive build quality: a double layer design saw the 1.6mm base reinforced with 3mm thick plate to ensure absolute rigidity. A 1mm thick steel top plate further reduced vibration.
The LX88 was also a universal player, compatible with Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio. If Pioneer maintains this legacy, it will have the edge on the incoming Panasonic UB9000, which does not support either high-res disc format. We might also expect stereo performance to be served by an ESS Sabre Reference DAC.
The LX88 had twin HDMIs, coaxial and optical digital audio outputs, and both balanced and unbalanced analogue audio outputs. Itís likely that any new flagship would follow that approach.
Of course, many will wonder if any upcoming premium UHD Blu-ray from Pioneer will support Dolby Vision. Thereís no announcement, however the smart money suggests that it may well support Dolby Vision too.
