Default Criterion Collection blu-rays $19.99 at amazon

This includes every current Criterion blu-ray except for Bottle Rocket (currently $24.99) and Benjamin Button (currently $22.99). However, earlier today I did buy Bottle Rocket for $19.99.

This also includes Repulsion which isn't released until July 28th. The other upcoming Criterion releases are the normal prices. I highly advise anyone to jump on that deal for Repulsion. I can imagine the price going up to the normal blu-ray price closer to the actual release date. It's a very strange but awesome movie. Bizarre sounds and visuals. Worth owning!

I see a lot of things I want to pick up myself but I've been spending too much lately.

That's because it's not released on blu-ray by Criterion. But, I imagine you can pick up the standard Criterion DVD for around $20 with the Barnes & Noble 50% off sale.

If anybody is wondering what to buy on this list, I'd highly recommend The 400 Blows, it's absolutely brilliant!

These are the blu-rays that are currently out:

For All Mankind
The Seventh Seal
Last Year at Marienbad
Bottle Rocket
In the Realm of the Senses
Wages of Fear
The Third Man
The Last Emperor
El Norte
Chungking Express
400 Blows
The Man Who Fell To Earth
The Last Metro

Now with this sale, I own all of them except for In the Realm of the Senses. Not really interested in that one. But, anyway. I'd highly highly highly recommend The Seventh Seal, Wages of Fear, The Third Man, The 400 Blows, For All Mankind and Last Year at Marienbad.

I think I read somewhere that the US version of In the Realm of the Senses [presumably the version Criterion is using] falls foul of the UK child pornography laws [I believe it's because for a very brief moment someone touches a young child's genitals]. Can anyone tell me if this is true, please?

Good god. I don't think I want to know the answer to that question.

(half joking...some people say it is a very good movie while others despise it. I'd be interested in at least checking the movie out, but no blind buy for me. I'd feel weird)

I have not seen the movie but as my understanding the Criterion release includes a scene where a young boy is grabbed by the genitals out of anger (for punishment I guess).

i wanted to order Repulsion for that 20 buck price, but with Gauntlet no longer running a smooth 6 bucks, i'd have to find something else to add on to get free shipping (nope, i don't have prime). so perhaps i'll just wait on it. tempting as hell on last metro and seventh seal, as well. must. resist.
