For whatever reason, the Amazon site is listing the "yesterday's price" as $57.49... According to Ruvic's thread, these were at $84.99 yesterday. Just FYI...

Whats the difference between the trunk set and this gift set as far as special features? Maybe I will wait for the Ultimate Collector's Edition's...

What a crappy deal. 50 cents off is the DOTD?

They probably mean the DVD set was $57.49

The trunk set had all kinds of stuff, like dvd games, book marks. These are probably just the blu movies themselves

Inside, you'll find plastic slipcase packages for each of the five individual movie discs, plus the two bonus discs of added content. Additional trinkets include a letter pouch with three packs of collectible Harry Potter trading cards (sixteen cards total). There is another smaller box as well, containing five very cool bookmarks, each shaped like a different Hogwarts-related emblem.

Note that the total disc count is identical on both high-def formats. The Blu-ray and HD DVD editions each come with the five films on their own discs, plus two bonus discs with additional content. The only letdown is that the extra discs are standard-def DVDs only -- apparently Warner didn't feel the need to upgrade the video quality of the additional supplemental content to full HD.

That's what it is. The DOTD is for either the DVD or BluRay at the same price of $57.49. The BluRay set was ~$80 yesterday, so this is a pretty good deal at about $11 a movie.

I have been waiting for this one to drop in price but after seeing the set at CostCo I am not sure now. All of the movies are in slim cases!

How much are empty blu ray cases? It is worth the time, $$$, and effort to get them converted to standard cases?

I've been thinking about getting 1-5, so I may think about this. I'm still leaning on getting them from Inet on HDDVD for $20.
