Default Panasonic BD-60 and BD-80 price drop at Amazon

Didnt see this anywhere so thought I'd put it up.

Panasonic DMP-BD60 at 210.50

Panasonic DMP-BD80 at 275.35

Prices are shown in cart. I'm thinking with the recent emergence of resonably priced wifi bluray players, this might be the cause of the recent price drops on the regular profile 2.0 hardwire ones.

I have been watching the price for the 60 for the last couple of weeks and Amazon seems to nickel and dime the price. It will go down 13 cents at one time, then 2, then 5, then go up .50.....etc. I saw that it had gone down to $206, but by the time I had seen it, it had already gone up to $210 again. Maybe this week will vary a bit before fathers day.

It has always been that way at Amazon. They probably have an automated pricing system for most items, where they have a base line price that fluctuates up or down based on total inventory. That also totally explains their "Gold Box" deals. The special deals have nothing to do with what people want, it has them looking at their overstocked items and trying to dump them, basically clearance without calling it as much.

You hit the nail on the head! Amazon has ALWAYS had fluctuating prices--especially for expensive items.

If you want a major item such as a Blu-ray player or digital camera, just check it out several times a day and wait for the price to be low and then buy--just like the stock market!

Perhaps they change the price of items people leave sitting in their carts. If an item is never looked at and isn't in any carts... does the price really ever change?
