Default Get Your Standalone "Casablanca" and "The Matrix" at Amazon.fr sale!!

buy 2 get 3 titles right now on amazon.fr
including all individual Matrix titles plus "Animatrix"
plus standalone barebones "Casablanca"
plus unreleased in the US "Gigi" or "An American in Paris"
or unreleased but announced "Quo Vadis" plus many other great titles.
plus "The Goonies" and standalone "Dirty Harry" films

go to www.amazon.fr
and look to the left and click on the "blu-ray" link
then choose the 2 = 3 option.
which is the amazon way of saying buy 2 get 3.

What the frak! Why can't we get the Matrix stand alone disc in the US! Curse you Warner Bros for forcing us to buy expensive box sets with way to thin cases!!! Oh yeah, also curse you for your lossy blu-ray movies.

I mostly just don't want to buy the big collector's edition for Casablanca (or the second two Matrix movies). Unfortunately the dollar-to-Euro conversion doesn't exactly make this something worth getting for me

Amazon.co.uk prices are much better. Only their buy 2 get 1 free doesn't include the goonies

you're right about that, but they don't have "Casablanca" out in the UK yet.
or "an american in paris"
or "Gigi"
or "L'ennemi intime" etc. etc.
so it just depends on individual wants.
as far as the expense--
this is one of the best times in a long time to place a French order as the Euro is down significantly from a few months ago.

I should clear that up...it's not that I dislike the thin cases coming in box sets as much as I just don't like thin cases since to me they throw off the look of my collection sitting on my shelf with all my other cases. To put it this way if WB released the movies individualy I wouldn't complain about the thin cases in the box set becuase I have the option to buy the regular cases. I display all my blus withough any additional packaging they may come with whether it be the boxes from box sets or slipcases the exception being TV series as I display those after all my movies. It's just preference... To me it's a cleaner look.

How much is shipping to the US if you buy 3?

ok I just put in a test order and chose the shipping option of 7 to 10 days or whatever one is real similar to that one.
(there is another faster option)
anyway, the shipping came up 14,70 Euros to where I am in the US so that would be around $18 it looks like.
with the discount applied the order is like 41 Euros roughly so that is approx $52.
so for any 3 discs shipped to the US it looks like approx $70.
when you consider that the "Casablanca" ultimate US set is around $50 give or take sale prices etc. etc. that's actually not too bad.
I mean it's not like the greatest bargain ever, but not too bad.
If you choose the unavailable in the US Warner musicals it's even a better deal imo.

They even have Bonnie & Clyde in non "Blu-book" format as well.
