Default Best Buy clearing out Pioneer Elite 94HD for $399

I was just at my local BB and in the Magnolia room inside the store there is a Pioneer elite that has been sitting there for months with a $999 price tag, I walked by it today and there was a clearance tag on it and the price tag said $399, I guess they will replace it with a 95HD when they are gone.

that is a good deal but it doesn't decode DTS-HD just True HD, and it's not 1.1 compliant, I am thinking about this one since I will be using the analog outs for audio so HDMI 1.3 doesn't matter to me.

anyone have this thing ??, they look pretty sweet but for the MSRP I guess they should.

Just be sure you're going to be happy with it despite the things it is missing! I did the same thing about a year ago, snagging a Yamaha HTR-5890 for $299 on clearance marked down from $899. I loved the sound and was able to make do with the Analog inputs (for my Blu player) and downconverted high-res formats from my HD-A2 over digital, but I finally gave in to the temptation of HDMI switching and high-res audio decoding and bought an Onkyo 805. Moral of the story is - I loved the AVR, and especially the price, but I didn't get near the length of time I wanted to out of it because the stuff I _didn't_ have really got under my skin. Course everyone is different, so you may end up buying one and getting 10 years out of it. Just thought I'd offer my 2c since I was doing the same rationalization a year ago

I see your point for the same price I can get a panny 10a that decodes DTS-HD and true HD and I have heard great things about it. but it still isn't 1.1, maybe I should wait for the BD-50 and be happy.

The Panasonic 10A does not decode DTS-HDMA. Only DTS-HD, same as the Pioneer.
