Default Deadwood: The Complete Series Blu-ray only $124.99 at Amazon!

For those of you not ready to drop $140 on HBO's $209 MSRP Deadwood Complete Series Blu-ray, Amazon is currently selling the set at just under $125. Not a huge discount off the already significantly discounted price they're normally selling for, but I figured it might be just enough for some of you to take the plunge - and you should, since this is one of the greatest TV Shows and Blu-ray sets ever released.

I'm curious to see if Best Buy will continue their now seemingly annual tradition of having a post-Christmas HBO 50% sale. They've done it the last two years, at least. And if so, if you can get Deadwood as part of it. They currently have Deadwood for $190, so that would drop it to $95. If it doesn't happen I guess I'll suck it up and get it from Amazon later on.

Keep in mind, it may seem like a lot still, but that's still only $41 per season...which is about in line with what other single seasons of more recent shows, like Dexter, go for.

Anyway.

Either way, you're in for a treat when you eventually get it!

with great awesome comes a great price tag. we're talking about 13 discs, 3 seasons. 36 episodes of the best show about the time period, period. not every blu-ray is 20 bucks, nor should it be. that would limit us on what we actually got.

it's 42 bucks a season. not horrible, by any means, considering what Heroes has gone for. WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better show here.

I said it in the review thread for this title where I lamented what happened with this series, but I'll say it again here. At the right price I might make a run at this title, but not at current sale prices for it. $42/season is not horrible, but it isn't that tempting either. If the series had really gone on beyond the third season I might not be able to resist, but I already saw the series on HBO when it aired and got tired of waiting for any additional material from this series. Knowing now that there will probably never be any further Deadwood tales, I settled for renting the bonus disc from season 3 and watching the content I wanted to see from same.

At about $90, I might make the jump on this one, and certainly any price below there would probably be irresistible, but until then I'll keep waiting.

It's just that if I were to drop money on an entire series set, I would expect it to be cheaper than $42 a season. $42 for an individual release is ok to me, but not when it's in a huge package. I'm sure it's worth it to some (if not most) but I'll wait for it to go to about $100.

That's cheap compared to Best Buy Canada. $220 thank you kindly (blindly)...!
