Default Anybody buy Woo's The Killer for $6.49?

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Killer-Blu-ray/9318/

i saw it yesterday for $10 or so and thought about it, but then decided no since i've read on the thread here how messed up it is...

...but $6.49 is just too good of a price to not go ahead and add it to the collection, and it made it a no-brainer since so many believe a true transfer of greatness will never happen.

so did anyone check mark it too?

Seeing as the source is just an upscaled DVD, you'd be better off buying the DVD, I'd think.

well isn't the Blu-ray still BETTER than the DVD, even if it's by a minimal amount?

and the DVD is "on sale" for $14.99, so really, i'm still looking at it as a no-brainer.

No, it's worse than the DVD. They took a PAL DVD and upscaled it by a poor process. you'd be better off buying the DVD and letting your own player scale it.

Very glad to hear you canceled the order. I'll try to keep this short. I HATE Dragon Dynasty. I've seen most of their titles on Blu now and with the exception of a few technical standouts such as Seven Swords and The Protector, imo, the rest of their BD's are in terrible shape with either BAD PQ, or AQ, and or both. 36th Chamber of Shaolin and The Killer, two all time favorite titles of mine, are particularly utterly dreadful on Blu under the Dragon Dynasty banner. It's currently perhaps the most incompetent company out there distributing BD's, even worse than Universal's catalog releases, and I refuse to give any of my money to them no matter how cheap one of their titles are on sale for. I greatly hope to see them get discontinued and the licenses picked up by say Criterion.

Matt, you're linking offsite here, to give THEM the money for any support! any amazon link in these forums goes to support THIS site. it will put a "panandscathed-20" at the end of the URL.

support HDD, folks.
