that is beyond odd that the 10.99 pile is about a hundred times better a deal than the 12.99 pile. hey, let's put the newer ones cheaper than the old crap! great prices.

And most of those $12.99 pile had been in the $9.99 pile so many times.

In many ways, Fry's is becoming a bit predictable. We keep seeing the same titles, for the most part, being recycled with the discount prices. Also, at least as far as the Fry's in Woodland Hills is concerned, every week most of the discounted titles are not even in stock. In fact, this Fry's has let their entire Blu-ray inventory drop. I have yet to see any of the new Clint Eastwood releases or The Magnificent Seven in that store. Earlier this week, they just relocated the Blu-ray section from the middle area to the front area of the store. I hope that the drop in inventory was so that they would have less to move and now that the move is completed, they will re-stock. I am going in today and check it out.

I've also found this to be true - but ordering for store pick-up from the website early (well, 8:30, early for me) in the morning seems to work fairly well.

Got Close Encounters, Leon, Starship Troopers and RE:Extinction (have all the Resident Evil movies now).

Just take the ad in to Best Buy, Target, or Wal Mart. I haven't been into a Frys in months. But I still get the deals with price matching, usually at Best Buy.

The only snag is paying the sales tax. Glad I picked up The Illusionist from the DeepDiscount for $14.86 shipped.

If you don't have Leon and live near a Frys, go pick it up. For $10.99, that is a steal.

Yes, that's what I have been doing. And, as I noted in my last entry, I did make another visit to Fry's today and nothing's changed. Almost all of the sale items are not in stock and the entire Blu-ray section looks like it has not been re-stocked in some time. I don't know what has happened to Fry's. In the past, Fry's was the main store where I purchased Blu-rays when I wasn't buying from Amazon. They had the best prices and the stock to cover it but they are beginning to lose me as a customer. In fact, even Best Buy (which I have not been a big fan of in the past) is starting to beat them in pricing on many titles. Case in point this weekend: Shutter Island is $19.99 at BB and $22.99 at Fry's. The early Star Trek titles have been $9.99 at BB for a few weeks while still $14.99 at Fry's. Boogie Nights is down to $14.99 at BB while still $19.99 at Fry's and so on.

Something odd is going on at Fry's, I went to the Burbank Fry's on Friday, and I couldn't find a DVD or Blu-ray player for sale... At least in plain sight. I don't know if they working on their merchandising set up, or some more ominous is afoot...

I've never seen the store that empty of product.
