Default Buy Panasonic BD65 get 3 Free BDs (from list) Add Avatar for More Savings AR

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000512461

Buy the Panasonic DMP-BD65 Blu-ray Player for $142.98 and get 3 free Blu-rays from list of choices. Deal runs until June 21st.

If you add Avatar for $16.99 you also qualify for a $25 Rebate. (Rebate expires July 10th but the Avatar price will probably go back up soon.)

Total for BD65, Avatar, and 3 more Blu-rays after rebate would be $134. 97. Decent deal if you can find three titles you need/want from the list of mostly older inexpensive catalog titles.

Looks like a good deal. Titles are OK, and the pricing isn't what I would call "high" with the Wayne's World titles in there at $7.99 and most or all looking like under $15.

Titles are kinda meh but I have been looking for a cheap player for the other room. Can anyone comment on the quality of this player?

would be a good deal if there were titles that cost more than 12 bucks in there. as is, not worth my time to get a spare player, or player for another room. not enough incentive here. ah well. big ups to those jumping!

Panasonic players are excellent in terms of firmware support. This is a relatively basic player these days. BD-Live, streaming (Netflix, Amazon, Pandora, YouTube, Twitter, and others), decoding of TrueHD and DTS-HD MA. It doesn't play video files like Divx, Xvid, avi, MKVs, etc except for AVCHD and MPEG2 stuff.

This seems like a good enough deal to get a second player for the guest room. Does anyone have an opinion on how this player compares to others in the $150 price range? I'm close to pulling the trigger on this deal.

Well, I bit on this deal. Picked up Old School, 2001, Point Break, and Avatar for $157.87 shipped with a $25 rebate for a total of $132.87. Not bad for a basic player and a pile of movies. Thanks OP!

I picked one up too. I already have a BD-60 and it is a very good basic player as well, but it is slow and this one is supposed to be a lot quicker and it has Netflix. I will give the BD-60 to someone in the family

I would bite with some better titles as well. I still need another player in the bedroom since mine fried.

^ Agreed. With better title selections, I would pick up another Panasonic player, which are excellent in my experience. My BD30 still runs like a champ, with continued firmware support. If you really need MKV support, look at the BDT300 which is Panasonic's first FullHD 3D Blu-ray Disc player to receive DivX Plus HD Certification.
