Default The Relic, $10 @ Walmart B&M

As the subject says, Walmart has The Relic on the shelf at $10.00. Although YMMV I imagine it's national, my Walmart is in a hick-town and usually doesn't have very many deals.
I haven't read any reviews yet to see if it's worthy of an upgrade, the dvd was horrible, they should have called it "pitch black" as that's all I saw when I watched it.

Don't tell me I sense this is a Lionsgate release!

I couldn't agree more with your statement on the DVD. It was terrible. I literally could not make out most of the end of the movie. Such a waste as it really is a cool creature feature and the monster looks great. Hopefully this blu-ray will be a big improvement.

Jade and Flight of the Intruder are also new 10 buck finds at WM.

Cool. At those prices, I will be picking up both Jade and Relic. I don't own either and I like both. They'd have to have really bad transfers to be a bad buy at that price.

*edit - OK based on that review, maybe Jade IS that bad.

Checked my WM this AM, but they didn't have it. I love this movie (definite guilty pleasure, as I was traumatized when they hacked up the book). The DVD was so awful, I'd love to see it on Blu Ray (I remember having the LD for the longest time)!

Most certainly...

Now I just wish the studios would adopt a sound/volume standard. If I watch a Warner release then stick in a Sony title I fly out of my seat just on the intro alone! Lionsgate is somewhat loud too.

the DTS-HD MA logo on LG titles is so fucking loud it's ridiculous. VERY much pisses me off. at least they didn't put it in front of every episode of weeds s5 like they did on weeds s4

I was able to score the last copy of Relic at my local WM. They had Jade also, but I decided to pass on that one.
