You can tell I have not watched it since last summer and my memory banks are faulty! Good call Trekkie!

Why does the article call First Contact "Star Trek VII?" It was VIII. VII is Generations.

I don't get why some of you are saying the new one is 10 dollars. It's 20 on amazon.

I DVR'd all these from HDNET and they look amazing. I bet the blu's are awesome. I've already watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture 3 times this week. Such a great movie.

Which is a real shame for fans of this much maligned, motion picture kick-off.
Personally, I loved the theatrical cut the most. I was never crazy about the
extra footage. Director Robert Wise's director's cut had some good points to
it, but I still preferred the original for sentimental reasons.
The picture quality is quite good IMO. The shot where we first see Spock meditating on the surface of the planet Vulcan was clear enough to make out him kneeling as he is dwarfed by two moons passing in the background. Phenomenal.
The sound mix is cool as well!
got mine from someone who broke up box set and sold titles separately..it is fantastic looking..one of my least favorite movies has become a favorite now ...state of the art for it's time..it's so lame by today's standards..but that's what makes it so great to watch....now if we could only get Forbidden Planet remastered on BD!

Forbidden Planet was fantastic on HD-DVD. I have no idea why they haven't plopped that material onto BD yet.

PQ on all 4 is very good, with Star Trek IV being not quite as good as the others. For $10, it's worth it. I picked these up at BB for $8 each during Black Friday last year, so I could see the prices go that low later on.
