Street Date: February 8, 2016

Studio: Sony Pictures

Region: Free*

Zavvi Description: Zavvi Exclusive Steelbook - Limited 2000 Copies

Extras: NA

Technical Info: Dolby TrueHD 5.1, AR 2.40:1, 50Gb Disc

Synopsis: Dan Brown's international bestseller comes alive in the film THE DA VINCI CODE, directed by Ron Howard with a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman. Join symbologist Robert Langdon (Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks, 1993 Best Actor, Philadelphia, and 1994 Best Actor, Forrest Gump) and cryptologist Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) in their heart-racing quest to solve a bizarre murder mystery that will take them from France to England - and behind the veil of a mysterious ancient society where they discover a secret protected since the time of Christ. With first-rate performances by Sir Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina and Jean Reno, critics called THE DA VINCI CODE "involving", "intriguing" and "a first rate thriller."

Comments: Site indicated region B, however this is a Sony release and previous release is indeed region-free. Back cover appears to be signed by someone, or is it simply part of the design?

And you of course know they also own Hollywood Pictures as well. A very long time ago Miramax as well, but they sort of shed that one.

They use it sometimes to release stuff that they don't really want to be associated with the Disney brand (IE: If it isn't kid suitable, or they think it's crap).

They released Nightmare before Christmas via Touchstone.
