WalMart is such a bunch of hypocritical a-holes that it's not even funny. Warning, this post will contain tons of profanity.

How in the hell does Wally World justify the censoring of music when they will sell me a film like Halloween II that literally has the word "fuck" in it 30 times in less than 30 minutes plus shows women being brutally slaughtered yet they won't sell me a CD by Marilyn Manson where he says "fuck" maybe 10 times in the whole CD? Why won't they let you view adult films on VuDu when they will sell movies like the American Pie series where boobs are shown all over the place? My thoughts are as such: use the fucking age verification system on ALL your stuff you bunch of retarded fucktards. It's not that hard to program their POS with age verification warnings for CD's just as they have with R rated films. Certain UPC's will match their central data base of "adult" content and pop up a warning so your friendly Wal-Mart ASSociate can check your ID to make sure you're 18. I'm 31, balding, and have a full beard and I still get carded for R rated films at Wal Mart by the blonde who looks like she is high on Valium (she does, there's a lil bit of drool on her blue smock). Wal Mart is trying to sanitize their customers, but they shoot themselves in the foot because of this blatent "turn the other cheek" attitude towards films. If they are going to censor music and downloadable content, then why don't they sell sanitized films and stop carrying alcohol? Because it's fucking rediculous.

Sorry for the profanity laden rant, but Wal Mart REALLY pisses me off. Oh, and I'm not a huge fan of Marilyn Manson either, just using him as an example.

Awesome anti-consumer move by Wally! Who cares if it is making you money, get rid of it because you don't approve of anything sexually related.

Walmart ruling the world again! I was interested in Vudu until Walmart bought them.

So the self righteous company called Walmart who have put thousands of people out of work under the guise of saving Americas money his trying to impose its will again.

I guess the Chinese don't want adult features, maybe they had to do that to appease the Chinese government.

Bye Bye Vudu.

Well, actually, they're exercising their constitutional right to impose their will.

In kind, the HDDigest writer has exercised his constitutional right to point out (correctly) that WalMart are exercising their constitutional right to impose their will in a typically idiotic manner.

Fair enough, no?

No I don't use VUDU at all let alone their "adult" section, but I am disgusted in principle with censorship.

True they have the legal right to do so, but I have a constitutional right to walk up to strangers and tell them they are fat. Having the right to do something does not mean it isn't inappropriate.
If there is any demand for adult content, don't you think another service will offer it and pick up the slack? Wal-Mart obviously is not going to sell or rent adult titles, that isn't their business. I don't know if Wal-Mart will make VUDU a viable business or not, but I knew VUDU adult titles were history and it is not censorship or anything so devious, it is a simple business decision. The Wal-Mart target market would not approve of Wal-Mart's involvement in the porn business. You don't see porn titles in the Wal-Mart video sections or at the company's online store and had to know the company's online streaming service wouldn't offer porn either. The VUDU business was not going to succeed as it was and was only a candidate for purchase by a company that had resouces and name recognition to build the business.

Don't expect McDonald's to offer soft drink cups with pictures of porn stars either, even if the company buys a cup maker that has done that in the past.

Censorship comes from governments, not private companies.

jonh78, you are absolutely right there is no issue here, private companies have a right to sell or not sell anything they want. You couldn't force Pepsi to sell Coke nor should they they have a reputation to uphold. Likewise, Wal-Mart has no claim to pornography! Those of you who think they should, probably think the world is flat and that government should force people to all behave the same way!
