Question Issue with Onkyo 605

I have the Onkyo TX-SR605 and this is how I currently have it setup:

Panasonic BD30 to the 605's HDMI 1 input (set to DVD)
Toshiba A35 to the 605's HDMI 2 input (set to VCR)
Motorola 3416 HD PVR to the 605's component in (set to CBL/SAT)
HDMI out to Optoma HD65 projector

The problem that I seem to be facing is that I am unable to save changes to the channel levels each time I change them. After my initial setup, I am basically unable to change the settings and keep them that way. For example if my C channel is set to +1 and I want it to be +3, I can change it and it'll stay that way while I'm watching the movie, but once I shut off the receive it somehow resets back to +1.

Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Try locking your settings.

I know a lot of people on this forum have the 605... I'm sure there's someone who can help me out.

I am guessing that nobody is helping you because they don't have an answer. Are you following the directions per the owners manual and selecting setup after you make configuration changes? It sounds like you are to me if the settings are staying as you entered them until you power down.

Your receiver is under warranty, have you tried contacting Onkyo customer service? You may have a defective unit.

Hi there, I don't have a 605 but I do have an 875 and it saves settings just fine. I just go into the menu by pressing setup, then I select whatever I need to set, and then click on the return button to exit out and it keeps all my changes.

There are some firmware updates available for the 605 that fix some issues since release. Try going to Onkyo's web site, I believe you can download the firmware from there. If not you can also email support and they will email you back with a release form to fill out if you want to do the firmware update on your own, and then they will provide you with the firmware and you can do the update.

Hopefully it doesn't come needing Onkyo Customer services. I bought my November 21st, spent a month trying to get it working with over the phone tech support. Then took it to a service center in the begginning of January, and its been there ever since. Today its officially 4 months since I bought it and I have yet to have a fully functional receiver (heck for most of the time I haven't even had the receiver).

I'M NEVER BUYING ANOTHER ONKYO PRODUCT.
