Default Sony 60" 1080p Rear-Projection SXRD or Toshiba 65" 1080p DLP

I thought about buying a new tv in the next month or too. I currently have the Sony 50" LCD projection tv and have been very happy with it. I've had it for about 4 years, and I been looking for a 60 or 65" tv. Just wondering if anybody had any of these two tvs that I listed, and if they have been happy with them.

I think LCoS tech is way better than DLP. I myself have a 61" JVC that uses the same LCoS tech as the Sony SXRDs, and I couldn't be happier.

No screendoor effect, rainbow effect, or digital noise that most DLPs are burdened with at all.

Awesome, go for the SXRD.

SXRD hands down. I also own the 60" Sony SXRD and imho, it blows away what DLP has to offer.

60" Sony SXRD. Last fall my decision was to get that before football season started or get my girlfriend an engagement ring. Let's just say I'm still single and couldn't be happier!

I don't agree with the sentiment that LCoS blows away DLP. They're pretty much on par. You don't have a screen door effect with DLP anymore, haven't had it in years. The 720p sets fixed that before the 1080p sets came out which will have as much screen door as any LCoS would (they both are fixed-pixel displays after all).

The only problem DLP has is the "rainbow effect" with the majority of people cannot see.

I recommend DLP, and I also recommend LCoS. They're both good. I used to say to go with DLP because it was cheaper, but now they're about even so I wouldn't really say one is better than the other unless you can see the rainbow effect.

In short, LCoS is better

Well, the best front projection systems are DLP, and the SXRD projectors can't touch them.
