Default What screen size do you recommend at minimum??

I'm looking to setup a home theater system for my living room. And I was wandering what screen size minimum do you recommend when it comes to getting OLED televisions? I'm looking into LG, Sony, or Panasonic right now.

It all depends on how far away you will be seated from the screen. Will you be 5' or 20' away. The screen size is only part of the equation. And it depends on whether you want to sit within the THX zone, if you will. I sit 6.5' from my 58" screen in my man cave, where I watch most of my movies. But in our living room and family room we have 42" screens and we sit between 10' to 18' feet away. It's not ideal in those rooms, but we really can't go larger without compromising comfort and style.

BTW, welcome to the group.

In general, I think the push is to bigger and bigger screens. My last purchase I said 65 or bust, so I got a 65. If I took a tape measure I would probably be like Rob, somewhere between 6 - 8 feet away.

Thanks Rob! This forum is awesome! As far as the living room, my couch is about 10 to 12 feet away from the television. The wall will only limit to 55 inch max. I can get 65 inch but I'll have to tilt the OLED to the side. I will post a pic soon to show you what I mean.

At that distance 65" would be preferred over 55".

and it cost 20 dollars of wood plus 10 dollar black spandex with 10 dollar white spandex finish .

A 140" screen is far too large for a 10' seating distance. Not to mention that this is in his living room. Most people don't want a 140' screen in their living room. A home theater? Yes. If your sitting back about 20'.

Or just paint the wall and mount the projector on a motorized track to select size from 40 inch to 150 inch display on wall .

Wassup guys, so here is my living room where I want to setup a home theater. I can only fit through a 55" inch screen. If I get a 65"inch ill have to install a wall mount (which I will get anyways regardless what size) and tilt the screen to the side. The tv I have is a LG OLED55C7P:
