Default Samsung is May Cut TV Panel Production by 80 Percent

If this is true, it would mean a crazy big shakeup for the television industry.

Its getting towards the end of the year, Samsung for the last 2 years were the first to release their newer TVs for 2010 and 2011. Just maybe they are cutting back production to prepare for the next 2012 batch of TVs, maybe they have a extra surplus of 2011 TVs as they started production earlier then other companies. Who knows buts cutting back now doesn't seem like a totally bad thing for them this time of year.

Samsung is probably the largest (by volume) manufacturer of panels, both branded and 3rd party, hell, doesn't Sony even buy their panels? I find it impossible to believe the would cut back production that much on a product they sell so many of! What they're saying is they only sell 20 percent of the panels they make?

I've had a Samsung LCD for about 3 years now. I still love it as much as the day I bought it.
