Default 2010 Plasma Shipments Saw Rebound

QUOTE

"The firm said the aggressive rollout of LED-backlit LCD TVs caused a significant slowdown in the decline in LCD TV average prices, and with the increased importance of value in many markets, plasma TV was very competitive with LCD in greater-than-40-inch market segments."

It's been reported that most of the Kuro technicians are now working for Panasonic. Panasonic plasmas were rated the best 3D sets. Kuro was great but the Panasonics are pretty sweet as well!

I have a 42 inch LG and a 50 inch Panny. I love them both and have never regretted my decision to spend less money for better contrast, black levels and viewing angle.

I don't know who started that rumor anyway about the demise of Plasma TVs in the first place, because I've always knew it wasn't true. Just because Pioneer discontinued their Plasma Kuros, doesn't mean other manufacturers will stop making them. Pioneer Kuros were extremely overpriced from the beginning, and the high price have resulted in low sales. As long there are HDTV's, Plasmas will be manufactured. Many consumers still prefer Plasma over LCD's, including me.

You're going out the world backwards! Why do you want to pay $6000.00 for a Pioneer Kuro? You can buy 2 Panasonic Viera's HDTV's for the price of one Pioneer Kuro, and still have money left over. Panasonic, and other major brand HDTV's are just as good as the Kuro's, maybe even better (especially Panasonic) because I've purchased a 58" Panasonic Viera two years ago, and the picture quality is absolutely gorgeous. I just imagine any HDTV that looks better. Panasonic have given Pioneer a run for their money, on their HDTVs because they're cheaper, and the overall quality is basically equivalent to both.

I disagree. If a Viera and a Kuro look the same to you, congratulations, you are blind.
