Default Ghost Riders ads show Sony putting blu on top.

Anyone seen the new ads? They say "available on Blu-ray and DVD".

Pretty bold to already start touting the blu-ray version ahead of the DVD.

Thoughts?

Its a Sony movie that's geared towards a young male audience. Sounds like good marketing to me. They're undoubtedly trying to build interest in their new entry level player.

I wouldn't place any bets just yet, Ghost Rider did do well in the box office but so did Pirates 1 and 2.

I think it will definately help keep the 3-1 ratio mind you.

Sony has always been doing this, they did this with Casino Royale as well. Although I must add, I had my TV on, and heard the trailer when i was on my laptop, and it caught my attention when it said "Coming to high definition Blu-ray, and HD DVD"

I thought that was a better way to advertise, so people will understand Blu-ray is high definition, rather than just like UMD, a video type for a certain console such as the PS3.

not too big of a surprise since they are staking a large portion of their company on the success of blu-ray.

Part of their problem is average consumers don't know the difference between Blu-ray, Bluetooth, and Blue Cheese.

They are starting to hear of "blu-ray" but still are unsure what it is.

HD DVD is much more intuitive. If you ask someone thats never heard of it, they could probably give you a pretty good guess.

Hey...the film is not good haha. I never said it was.

Although I will be getting it because the ghost rider scenes were cool, and I'm a sucker for all things comic book on film.

I actually hated Elektra and Catwoman.

I did enjoy Fantastic 4 and the Daredevil director's cut.

Again these are my guilty pleasures...I do not defend them, I just enjoy them.
