Default Bond HD OnDemand

Every Bond film just showed up on HD OnDemand on my Comcast system. I was just about to order a couple of these titles on Blu-Ray as I had found a decent deal on them. It appears a number of them are free... including From Russia with Love, one in particular that I wanted.

I realize, of course, that Blu-ray picture and sound is definitely superior. But on my set, I can hardly tell the difference. And the 5.1 sound on this is actually great. Sale lost to free OnDemand.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to beat free. I love my Blu-rays as much as the next guy but for Bond movies, free is a great bargain.

edit - apparently I was wrong. I did see the bond films on directv earlier this week but it seems they're gone now. Good thing I downloaded a couple already.

I have seen many of these on the Moviepix HD channel in Canada. They look great but that's not stopping me from buying them all on Blu-ray.

As a massive Bond fan I have to own them on Blu-Ray. Was able to get them for $15.xx apiece during the Amazon 3 for 2 sale. Worth every penny to me. HD cable and satellite cannot hold a candle to Blu-Ray.

I sure hope they come soon to Dish Network subscribers so I can record 'em. Can you Comcast people record those titles to external hard drives???

I don't own a Comcast DVR. I like to get copies on my HTPC with a PC-based PVR, easy to do these days.

This would be great if it was a film I only wanted to watch once.....But like Ack I'll be buying the Bond movies so I have them to own in the best possible PQ/AQ

VOD and DD are much more of a threat to the rental market than people that want to own movies.

Given how much cable compresses the sh** out of their HD streams yeah I have to agree I'd much rather go bluray for all... If i can get them for free off of a TWC HD broadcast though I might go that route. I love bond, but I'm trying to save some bux.
