Default Will Blu-ray take 100% of HD market? POLL

Okay, here it is.

I don't care if you have a retarded short term take on this or a reasonable long term outlook.

Do you think that bluray will own the HD market?

It's impossible for either format to ever own 100% of the market.

Even if, in the very unlikely scenario that Universal went neutral and Disney and Fox didn't, HD DVD will still be alive and kicking with a lot of supporters.

I think Bluray will probably always have a bigger possible support base because of PS3. But software sales, over the course of the next 2 years on both formats will be pretty close, with BD a slight lead.

Refused to answer this one - this is public poll and does not included enough answers. Sorry.

That's not possible. I agree there should be more poll options.

A complete 100% is likely not possible, in fact there are some that still use 8 Tracks today . But I believe it will be higher enough not to matter.

Agreed. It's impossible to own 100% of the market. Just think of it this way... as long as there is 1 person who currently owns a HD-DVD add-on keeps their add-on, then you do not own 100% of the market. Think also about it another way. If you go to novelty record stores or places like that, there's a possibility that you will find 8-track tapes and LP records. Technically CD is the dominant format for music right now, yet they don't own 100% of the market.

I agree with everyone else. This poll needs more options. Besides, only a Sith speaks in absolutes.

When you put it like that, then no, never. But I'm thinking along the lines mainstream market. Just because someone still has some old disks at home doesn't mean it's still alive and selling. I think there will only be one HD format and that format will be Blu-ray.

like everyone's saying, 100% isn't possible, but it will have like 90%, and then 9% for HD downloads and the remaining 1% misc.

Sure I can understand that in the future there will be a dominant format. But the poll doesn't say that. It says 100%. And by that I am responding to the impossibility.
