Default Isn't It Weird?

Isn't it weird that Best Buy and Netflix both make their announcements on the same day? To me it appears the BDA has paid off both instead of trying to pay anyone else on the HD-DVD exclusive side to go Blu-Ray, it's cheaper for them and in the end will leave the HD-DVD side with no choice but to go neutral or Blu-Ray exclusive.

Just a theory but it would make perfect sense. Especially since the BDA did something just like this last year with Blockbuster and Target.

Well, I don't know why Best Buy would announce backing Blu-ray when they are having a BOGO sale on HDDVD movies this week. They also sold lots of HDDVD player the last 2 weeks.

They will be getting lots of returns on those sales. I don't get it.

That was also my thoughts. There is also the possibility that they know something about universal that we don't.

Or maybe HD DVD is a dead format and retail has decided to reflect that fact?

wow. How much this time?

$20 Million, $200 Million, $200 Billion?

Isn't it possible that both these retailers simply noticed that the vast majority of their consumers had chosen Blu-ray over HD-DVD?

You cant say that this hasn't been coming ever since the Warner move.

Are you familiar with the concept of clearing out old stock? They didn't want to have to just trash them so better to announce a large BOGO and see how many items you can shift before you stick in the knife.

The time period is over for HD-DVD Christmas Sales returns. Plus, they still have to get rid of the HD-DVD stock that they have.

i forgot no retailer can abandon hd dvd cause it sells at such a poor rate and has high amounts of returns. nope, the BDA just has to be paying them off. i didn't make a dumb choice with HD DVD, I just got blindsided by the evils of Sony. Its the only way the red boys can sleep at night, knowing they wasted so much of their money.

Where is the proof that Sony or the BDA paid them off?
