Default if Warner and Fox were to annonce HD DVD exclusive support ..

if Warner and Fox were to annonce HD DVD exclusive support and with Toshiba and MS slashing the entry MSRP of HD DVD hardwares, wouldnt we see HDM starting to reach mass market by now?

no, because nobody wants dual formats.
purchasers have already proven this.

HDM has already "taken off".
i read an article the other day that it's outpacing DVD at similar point in the respective timeline.
*edit - found it

No. Because I doubt Toshiba would have been forced to slash prices. And this thread is nothing more than an opinionated dream and should probably never have been started.

If Warner and Fox announced HD DVD exclusive support, Toshiba and MS wouldn't be slashing their entry MSRP of HD DVD hardware. So, no.

Edited to add:

Great minds think alike ack_bak. I need to learn how to type faster.

Your threads are pretty much, by far, the worst. I'm done visiting anything with you as the author.

It would likely be a very different picture I guess, but I think instead of being "wrapped up and going mainstream", you'd see yourself in the middle of a fierce war. Para, Uni,Fox,WB vs Disney, Sony. However, if it looked like that, I would expect HD-DVD to win at the exact same rate as blu-ray is now over hd-dvd (studios and support dropping off daily).
