Default Bill Hunt warns not to buy reduced price Blu-Ray players?

Someone needs to check the temperature in hell.

Bill Hunt, hardcore BD supporter just posted this on his blog:

Quote:
. . . Several major retail chains have just dropped the price of Samsung's BD-P1400 to just $299. [snip]

. . . By the way... for those of you thinking maybe it makes sense to buy BOTH Blu-ray and HD-DVD to cover your bases, it would frankly be smarter just to buy neither. I know it's tempting for enthusiasts to buy both, but keep this in mind: Supporting both is only going to continue prolonging this format war, when what we all really need is for this thing to end as soon as possible.
Wait a second, did Hunt just recomend against picking up a reduced price BD player? I was considering picking one of those up. But maybe he has a point . . .

Sounds like he's saying don't buy both formats...not don't buy the cheap players.

Ok. But since the vast majority of stand alone owners have HD DVD players, in most cases he's saying don't buy a BD player, right?

No, he's saying don't buy either. Stop trying to read more into it than is clearly written in front of you.

Yes. And he seems to acquire titles on both formats. I guess under his own analysis he's part of the problem.

"to buy BOTH Blu-ray and HD-DVD"... which means go purple.

He has nothing against Blu buying Blu or Red buying Red.
