Just curious if A BD only, or SD owner will pick this up.

I am interested, and I like that Virgin Megastore promotion. So, possibly.

Is this release only a dual format release?

Its an ingenious way of getting pro Blu Ray supporters to buy a HD DVD title in spite of themselves.

Still though considering the whole point of the remaster was to make it HiDef watching it in SD seems....odd!

Yes, there will be no standalone DVD release. The only release is the HD DVD/DVD combo.

Thank you, I thought that was the way it was. I guess i could have googled it. This will throw off the Nielson Numbers a little huh?

I find Star Trek boring so I'm not interested at all.

I just looked on hdgameb.com and it was ranked above a thousand. This could be a bust for Paramount.

It did very well it's first fewdays after it was announced for pre-orders.

Also The Menagerie Parts I & II are getting a special theatrical presentation in the US on a few thousand screens (also some showings in Europe too). All of the showings were sold out or near sellouts so they added another date for showings. Audiences are going to also get a special 30 minute preview/behind the scenes documentary on the restoration of the show and of the new disc set.

Paramount will be happy...
