Default 1-day Theatrical Promo for Star Trek HD-DVD

Well, I'm not shy about my dislike of most things 'HD-DVD', but I'll admit this does show some creative marketing:

It appears that on Tues, Nov 13th, select theaters across the US will show a special digital screening of the "Menagerie" episode (from the Original Trek series) in its remastered form. This, as a promo event/prelude to the release of the HD-DVD/DVD-Combo Season 1 home video release.

Yeah it's a unique marketing move, reminds me of that one day LOTR 12 hour event to promote the box set. It will certainly have appeal to the segment of consumers that enjoy Star Trek.

As a person who has Blu-ray exclusive (I am getting more movies than I can watch), I agree with you. I want every HD movie/show to be great. Anything less is, to quote you, "childish".
