^_^ Sorry, I don't have time to read through the piles and piles of flame wars to find articles previously posted. I found it to be a well written article and posted it. If you don't care, don't read. I appologize however if it agravated you to have to see it again, as that sort of thing pisses me off too.

No worries, but yeah it has been posted a bunch of times so far, and well the biggest thing to come out of it all is the repeated postings pointing out that this guy who wrote it has been wrong about well everything he ever wrote, such as predicting the failure of the Mac 8 or 9 times so far.

I trust Rob Enderle as much as I trust the ex-Iraqi Information Minister.

Don't put down Bagdad Bob. He was much more honest than Rob Enderle.

I haven't even read the article - I will. But, Rob is mostly an idiot. Every article he writes has been 100% slanted towards HD DVD. Bill Hunt could learn a lot from the crap that Bob writes.

I have always refuted what Bob has put down on paper as complete BS which ignores reality, and I am sure he has done an excellent job doing that once again.

He really needs to learn how to read English and to have a slight clue about business and reality.

Follow up...

After reading the article it is more of the same bullshit from Bobby boy.

1. The PS3 is not a crutch, but a tool to help build product awareness for the general public. Yes, it isn't doing as well as hoped, but it is most definitely building far stronger brand recognition. HD DVD only could hope for a tool this good... so yes, Toshiba doesn't have a 'crutch' (ha-ha) similar to this. Instead, Clan Toshiba has the crutch of subsidized players - which he completely ignores.

2. Key Competitive Advantage Unimportant? Come on, the key advantage Blu-ray has, and everyone should know after hearing it 10,000,000 times is NOT space or bandwidth. It's studio and CE support. Strange how he ignores that to focus on the storage space, which truly is not that important. Unimportant? I don't think so. Now when there are already HD DVD movies that are getting lower audio specs for certain films and filling up HD30 discs. But, in the video format war, BD50 vs. HD30 won't matter much. In the computer world? It may matter a bit more. Yet it is studio and CE support which are THE KEY COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES.

3. Want proof he's a fucking idiot? "A scalar takes a low-definition image and electronically augments it so it looks like a HD image." Everybody who knows about A/V knows that this simply isn't true. Good scalers (rare) do a decent job with SD video. But, DVD has artifacts which no scaler can get rid of, and the bigger your HDTV is, the more it is apparent. It's a stupid thing to say.

4. He finishes things off with a jab at Sony for their USB Stick issue. The sign of a truly weak arguement to begin with.

God that man is completely clueless.
