That picture linked in the article (which is from AVS forum) is NOT a picture of the actual disc in question. The person reporting the haze on the disc has YET to post a photo. The photo used is of a completely different disc that he found on the web. The fellow in question does not have a digital camera and hasn't taken a photo of his disc yet.

That said.... Having gone through the whole "laserdisc rot" situation way back when, this situation (and the one reported for Blu-ray) are getting blown way way out of proportion. In any manufacturing process, you are going to have a certain percentage of problems. Too much moisture in the glue or whatever.

Despite your main intention here to slam the "disc rot" issue into the faces of HD-DVD supporters and celebrate it like you've "won something", what you are really doing is telling folks that haven't adopted either format to just wait longer until all of the "kinks" are worked out.

Well, guess what... there have been standard def DVDs reported with these same types of clouding problems. And I've seen it on CDs and CD-Rs as well. It's just one of those things that happen.

THe article was posted originally by a user of THIS forum in the HD section and he hadn't got a photo of his actual disc.
This photo/thread/attitude stinks.

BluRay is another one of the newbies that really has nothing much to say.

Pathetic. You post a link to a CLAIM made by someone who just so happens to be unable to provide an actual pic - what a coincidence! Because people who can afford high def players would not have digital cameras - or the means to borrow one to prove his claim.

This forum is being flooded with GARBAGE. Forum rot, if you will.

Oh man this just in. I opened my blu-ray copy of batman begins and it was seriously melted in half. Serious trouble for blu-ray. Has anyone else had this happen to a blu-ray movie?
