$40 for a movie is extreme. figure it will hopefully be $27 on amazon, but still, if you want to keep up with HD, at least drop your prices a little bit.

You do realize that all of Paramount's day and date releases retail for $39.99 on HD DVD right?

Blades of Glory (HD DVD)
Paramount Home Entertainment / 2007 / 93 Minutes / Rated PG-13
Street Date: August 28, 2007
List Price: $39.95

Ya know, this disc pricing is just real unappealing in general. Even some of the titles available on Amazon for $20 is too expensive in my option. I don't buy movies for over $20, period. And heck, if it's a new release, you better believe I'm scoopin it up in it's 1st week sale price from circuit city or something for $5 cheaper

True but Paramount give you extras, Fox seem to like these vanilla releases charge the most they can for the double dip later.

I have Night at the Museum by Fox and it doesnt even have a TRAILER on it

But at least they use an audio codec which is supported by all players and not some codec which no player can decode fully or pass through.

BOG is a top tier movie, taking in well over a $100 000 000...

28 days later barely topped $45 000 000

Blades of Glory - 69 on rotten tomato. 28 days later - 89 on the tomato meter. I'd buy 28 days but pass on BOG.

Every single Paramount movie that was day and date retailed for $39.99 on HD DVD in 2007:
- Black Snake Moan
- Disturbia
- Freedom Writers
- Babel

All of those movies listed (aside from Disturbia) made under $40 million at the box office (domestic). Black Snake Moan made less than $10 million. While I agree that Fox titles are expensive at $39 retail, the same applies to Paramount for HD DVD. That is why I buy online at Amazon for both studios and I usually wait for sales (Fox has them all the time).
