Default We don't want a winner yet.

We don't want anyone winning this so called "format war" anytime soon. I believe the healthy competition benefits all of us as consumers. the prices keep dropping & they both keep trying to be innovative to garner market share.

The only reason you don't want a winner yet is that when there is a winner, it will not be the format you chose. If HDDVD was winning 2-1, you'd want a winner by all counts.

This war is not going to end anytime soon.
Companies do not bail that quickly...too much invested.

I don't want a winner until the AVERAGE price (without sales or modifications) at most retail outlets is 19.99 or less per disc. I think of both compete long enough, it's likely. If either fold within the next year, we can kiss lower disc pricing goodbye.

no wrong. you don't believe that by HD DVD being around that it has not benefited you as a Blu Ray (assuming) consumer ? the recent price drops ? the sudden mail away for 5 free titles ? (sound familiar) plus the interactive features Blu Ray might eventually do. if that was their original plan the players on the market would already have those features & we wouldn't be talking about future players having that capability. I am not worried about losing anything period. I have every confidence that my HD DVD's will play in any future format(s) that exist.

No, no no.... not true at all. BD is pushing Toshy just as hard as Toshy is pushing the BDA.

Prices come down FAST in these tough battles. Quality usually goes UP, and the good movies cant be kept locked up for too much longer at this rate.

You are mistaken.... I am 100% HD DVD and wil never go Blu, but I want BD to do its thing for a loooong time. I benefit and quite frankly I am all I give a damn about.

The Console has benefitted Blu ray more than the format war too.
