Oops lower guess should be 20.00-29.99.

It will be higher than that in any case.

I was actually expecing bd to outsell dvd for the first time ever. It should have with a bd/dvd combo pack accounting for 100% of the total revenue for bd for a HIGH calibur title with lots of advertising.

You were not alone.

Before we got the Nielsen Videoscan first alert report last week the ranges I saw from informed people were from just under 40% (which we got) to just creeping barely over 50% depending on what the routine or sales driven DVD revenues were.

Once we got the HMM published Nielsen Videoscan data on Wed last week pretty much everybody thought it would be around 40% and we ended up about 38.87%.

Blu-ray revenues were less than expected for the POTC4 combo if all we counted correctly as Blu-ray sales and a bit higher than expected for DVD without any major release in the count.

We'll have a clearer perspective when the DVD only version releases, but it seems to me that the window treatment isn't distorting Blu-ray sales as much as some predicted earlier in the year. I mean, had the DVD released concurrently, the BD would have probably only sold a couple hundred K less in that first week and maybe 3-400K for the rest of the duration of the window. That would mean a $7-10M revenue bump for the 2011 totals, little more. That's not going to have a dramatic "artificial" impact on the yearly performance measurement; that asterisk will be pretty minimal imo.

Agreed. There will be a long tail to its sales as well as the DVD sales bump that will occur when the DVD only version hits the streets three weeks from now in the increasingly higher volume holiday season where its also more likely to be value priced by retailers that will sell more units and generate more revenues than the hardly discounted sales last week for POTC4 combos.
