I also said hell no! Should we do a like for like comparison with DVD as well? Those numbers would be sobering.

I vote no. But it is an odd comparison. VHS was in 95 million homes in 2004. What is the point of the poll?

I think it is fun and educational.

Heck, look at some of the responses already. People almost cannot even put their mind around the fact that Blu-ray in 2011 will likely not match what VHS was in 2004.

I don't see the importance of this. As has been stated, VHS reached approx. 80% of all HH's and by 2004 was headed to the trash heap of forgotten home video formats.

Yes. But I really don't have a problem with that. It is simply a data point.

There seems to be an issue with some people even accepting a data point.

(This is not direct at you, but the general forum) - Consider this an exercise in being able to acknowledge data that you do not want to hear. Realize that data is just data and does not change who you are. It can (and should) be able to be taken in and potentially alter your views.
