Remember, even if both formats die, Toshiba still wins with DVD Royalties. Its just like when Sony used SACD to kill off the next generation audio format. Sony still wins because of CD royalties.
not for long when was CD launched? count forward 25y. Now you know why Sony is so desperate on BD that it willingly jaoperdize its Play Station franchise

I thought that Warner was also getting royalties for DVD since they helped develop the format with Toshiba.

If so wouldn't it be in their interest so see HD-DVD survive.

just because Sony's publicist doesnt call every HDM related agency to announce they did not pay Paramount and warners to change their stance from HD DVD exclusive to neutral the way that they announced Toshiba 'paid' Paramount to be HD DVD exclusive, it doesnt mean that Sony did not pay Warners and Paramount off

Anyway...Warner is the catalyst to give this war a push in any direction. just a matter of time...meanwhile we can have all kindsa' speculative fun.

i fail to see why any studio would go away from Blu-ray, or neutrality until the war is completely over.
