All it takes is someone to set up contract manufacturing else where but its expensive to do so of course. It will happen over time though I think.

It should be obvious that China is not doing this out of concern for "protecting" Chinese consumers but rather to help Chinese manufacturers in the same industry to "catch up" with IP taken from companies outside of China.

This is the same thing as the "Technology Transfer" agreements where China forced foreign automakers to team up with Chinese automakers and basically tell them how to design and build a better car as a precondition for doing business in China.

China right now wants to have their companies rise and be on par with foreign companies as soon as possible and all these IP disclosure rules they are setting up is the way they are going about that.
