If you are an HD DVD fan, wouldn't Fox and Buena Vista releasing more movies be a bad thing for HD DVD? Is 70% vs 30% so far for 2007 not a big enough beating? Do you want it to be 80%/20%??
I do not see your point.

Are you saying that since someone is not neutral , they should not complaint because Fox or Buena vista are not releasing new BR material?

I have not seen you complaining that a lot of Blu Rayers are crying on this forum that COM and The Good shepperd does not work on some players and guess what... they do not even have the movies or the players.

What is your point?

I think it's not that they're complaining Fox/Disney isn't releasing, just highlighting that two exclusive studios have almost stopped releasing titles when they were major players in Q1. Also that it's a juxtaposition to what happened to Universal in Q1, who not have 70 titles up in Q2/3.

Botton Line is this...
Consumers will show support with their wallets.

Companies...with the products they release.

The rest is BS.

If I were a studio I would be like Weinstein..since I am a poor guy. There are no many options for movies to buy and I am not into blockbusters a lot.

This is the release calendar for Blu-Ray for the next month or so. I agree that Fox is very weak, but Buena Vista is strong, and the bottomline is there is a ton of content to buy for Blu-Ray. The lack of releases from Fox really does not hurt me too much, because I am already planning on getting quite a few of these titles....

Is right. I'd expect BR to be beating HD in Q1, considering HD didn't release any movies in an entire month.

I complained about Children of Men on HD DVD, and I also complained about Casino Royale on DVD. I don't own either of them, but it always pisses me off when companies do a crappy job quality control and the consumer ends up having to fight for getting things resolved.

In my opinion, class action lawsuits should be launched for both cases.

They are giving you the choice of either buying a DVD or a Blu-ray of their movies.

That's a choice.

Go look at the Nielsen numbers for April when HD DVD had some solid releases at the end of March and into April. Even with the 4 free movies that Circuit City has been ringing up at the registers for new HD DVD player purchases, as well as some of the big title releases on HD DVD, and the big planned buy-a-thon on April 15th, Blu-Ray outsold HD DVD by a strong margin.

I agree with you that from February 27-March 27 HD DVD had no new releases. But you would think that big titles like The Departed would have sold better for HD DVD since there was nothing else to by. The Blu-Ray version outsold it by almost 2:1...

And during the past month, Fox has been almost non-existent yet Blu-Ray continues to sell quite well. IMO I am actually surprised that HD DVD did not close the gap between late March and early April when Blu-Ray's releases slowed down and HD DVD's really picked up after the content previously mentioned content drought.

at least they helped create iHD/HDi which is why many titles are HD DVD exclusive from Warner (Matrix, Batman ect. ) and for example MI3 (exclusive content on HD DVD, no for BD)
