Default HD channels over the internet?

Hi there,

I'm going to order a new HDTV on the weekend but what I'm still missing is a nice package of HD programmes.

Living in Germany there aren't much options beside Premiere HD (cable or satellite) and Anixe HD (satellite only), for me.

Since I live in a big city there isn't even satellite TV available. Premiere HD only features like 3-4 programmes and is still expensive so I thought about getting HD via broadband.

Does anyone know an international available HD broadband- or HD Video On Demand service he would suggest to me?

PS: SkyOneHD isn't available via broadband or did I just miss a part on the SkyOne homepage? Because if it was available, that would certainly solve my problem. This Easter airing of Terry Pratchetts "Colour Of Magic" was absolutely fabolous (my brother did record it for me).

Hmmmm... I don't know what your best options are. At least here in the US if you had an x-box 360 you'll soon have HD netflix + HD digital downloads with video store. I know that Europe just recently got video store, but I don't know how much content, how much of that is HD, and whether or not they're keeping up with all the popular shows like they do here in the US.

Sucks that digital TV in germany didn't have HD built into the standard like it does here in the US.

Thanks for the XBOX Videostore suggestion. That would absolutely suit me as I'm going to buy a XBOX 360 Elite 120GB by the begining of next week.

The thing is however: The German MS site lists HD movies. But most of them are only 520p (No. It's not a typo. 520. Five Hundred Twenty)

And ya. Really sucks that HD isn't the standard in Germany. But hey, it's Germany. What would we call it if it was be a country of revolutionary home entertainment devices? Little USA or Japany?

Ok.

Problem solved. At least for the next 3 months

Ordered a 47" LG60 (Scarlet) on Sunday. With it I also got a coupon for a free Humax HD receiver and 3 months of Premiere HD + Discovery HD.

I'd still prefer SkyOneHD or HBO but as long as I only have cable that's just a dream.

BTW: How come so many prefer cable? Satellite features so many channels and cable's only got like 20 or 30.

Thx.

I still have to wait some days if not weeks for it to arrive.

It's a major deal and hundreds of other people ordered the very same set due to it's very low price (1099 - Approximately $1300US).

The funny thing is: The 42 inch version costs $400 more than the 47" version since the Premiere company and the retailer haven't made up a deal for it but only for the bigger version

Ok.

I know I might not be the strongest man on earth but that's just weird. I can't lift that damn 47" LG60 TV. Anyone know if there's a trick or something? How do I loosen these white plastic things near the bottom of the box for example?
