Default Hero's

So, I have no real idea how far behind I am with this series since it's not one I was really following despite being midly interested when I first heard about it... But I recently picked up the Season 1 HD DVD's off of amazon.com for $30 since the pilot episode looked good downloaded off of Zune, and for the price why the hell not right? Well, I ended up watching something like 6 episodes last night so I guess it's safe to say that I'm fairly well addicted now so, damn lol... I guess I've found something to fill the void left by BattleStar Galactica when it finally wraps up.

Anyway, anyone know if S2 is running now? I guess it must be (or have been). I'm thinking that if S2 is already running then I'll probably just wait for the BD's (I'm guessing it will be date and day), catch up on those and then start watching the broadcasts off of NBC since it feels a lot like battlestar in that you really don't want to just jump in mid season.

You can go to Hulu.com and it appears that they have all of season 2's episodes of Heroes online for viewing. And, if you've never been to Hulu, it's a great site for watching free tv shows and movies, just so ya know.

ditto to ccfix's post.

I saw all of Season 1 on HD DVD rented from Blockbuster while it was still available. Missed out on regular Season 2 broadcasts (which was not a full season due to writer's strike), so Hulu.com filled in for my fix/ While not "hidef", the hulu web site has excellent DVD quality streams available to anyone with a good internet connection. No registration is needed unless you want to view R rated full length movies (like the very popular "The Girl Next Door"). Never had any trouble catching up with the Heros Season 2 episodes on my 4-year-old computer at the highest possible resolution (480p) allowed by Hulu's options. While there are a few commercial breaks (4-5 per episode), it's only one 15-30 second commercial each time. Beats viewing them live on a SD TV, but I can't wait for the start of Season 3 in HiDef.

Just be warned, Season 2 doesn't live up to the high standard set by S1. I'm hoping season 3 will be a return to form.

Huh, interesting posts... Perhaps by the time I finish up on all 7 discs I'll give hulu a try. I'm only on disc 3 right now though lol, so I have a little ways to go yet, just finished watching home coming over lunch.

Radman, I recommend checking out amazon.com for the Hero's HD DVD set, it's only $30 at some of the amazon vendors... Honestly, you can't beat the price for what you get!

It should. Kring said he now knows what he did wrong w/ season 2 and promises he won't make the same mistakes w/ season 3.... I just hope he doesn't make a whole new set of bad decisions....

Oh, and (at least in my opinion) the funny thing about Heroes is that half of season one doesn't even live up to the high standards of itself. There are some pretty dull/pointless episodes in there... not as bad as most of seas. 2 though.

I think every show is going to have it's share of dull pointless episodes... I'm a huge battlestar fan for instance but there are a few episodes in the series that I just flat out don't care for very much (amazing show BTW). I'm not expecting Hero's to be completely devoid of dull episodes I don't care for, but at least so far it's been brilliant... Then again I'm still very much in a part of the series where all the Hero's are still only just now discovering what it is they can do and are capable of so there's still a lot of newness and wonderment.

Anyway, I'm just glad I'll have something great to watch once Battlestar is gone... I had high hopes for Jericho actually but unfortunetly it was canned.... Ah well, such is life I supposed

Season 2 is available for free if you are a Netflix member through their watch instantly service.

I'm still working my way through my $30 buy of the 5 Planet Earth HD DVD disks from that great deal @ amazon.uk. It is tempting to get Heroes S1 at $30, but I wonder if the price won't go down even more once Heroes S1 (as well as S2) gets released to blu-ray in late August. I imagine some former HD DVD owners who have transitioned to Bluray will prefer to have all their Heroes disks in a single format and trade in their existing S1 HD DVD disks for the upcoming Bluray S1 and S2 releases (something that I am not particular about... I just care for the content/quality).
