wow!! that is da bomb for sure!
one of my most wanted hd titles.
Warner really fucked up not making the "special edition" sd dvd NON-ANAMORPHIC!!
still to this day cannot believe they did that.

I think the problem is in it's OAR. It was filmed at 1.66:1. Wouldn't they have to matte it some to make it anamorphic?

hmmmmm...........not sure really.
I know Dr. Strangelove is OAR 1.66 and it is anamorphic on the new dvd. don't know if it's been altered any. I still don't have a complete handle on what happens with oar and making the film anamorphic--whether or not they have to make certain changes or not. I'm sure Josh Z. would know but he seems to have left hdd pretty much. I never see him responding in threads anymore.
he's like the "source of all knowledge" regarding these issues.
