Default HBO HD airing Star Wars I, II, and III in HD this month!

In case you were unaware, HBO-HD is showing the first three episodes of Star Wars all month this month. And not just that, they are in 5.1 surround sound AND their original aspect ratio! I'm pretty stoked about it! I've already snagged Episodes I-III on my DVR, where they will stay until I can figure out if I can transfer them to my hard drive.

They look and sound FANTASTIC. Episode I looks a LOT better than my DVD version. It is not perfect, I notice some artifacting in spots of fast action, but until Lucas gets off his rear and releases them on Blu-ray and/or HD-DVD, this will keep me plenty happy!

All six Star Wars were on HBO HD a few months back. I've got all of them on my HDDVR in the bedroom. They all looked and sounded great.

Wow! Hopefully next month they will put Episodes IV to VI on for me to snag. I just got Dish Network last month and the HD package, so I had no idea they had already been on! That makes me hopeful I will get IV through VI still! Thanks!

Since I got my external hard drive, I can now record these.

Does anyone else have DISH Network? Can I hook up my new 500 GB USB hard drive to my HD-DVR and transfer them over?

Yep. I have Dish and bought a 750 GB HD. It is very easy to transfer over. There is a USB port activation fee though. I have 40 HD films and I'm not even half way yet. It's great!

The only thing that sucks about it is that you are apparently not able to organize your stored files on the external drive.

If you know how to sort the things into folders on the external drive, I would LOVE to know how.

Deadbase, so you took the HBO HD broadcasts, pulled them to your hard drive, and then burned them to discs???

Do tell!!! Details on how you did this please. I have dual-layer discs and the drive to burn them, with a 500 GB external hard drive. Is there a procedure to follow?
